Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell works as a reporter for NBC News based out of Washington D.C. Mitchell has a BA degree in English from University of Pennsylvania. Mitchell started working as a TV and radio reporter for Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. In 1976, she was a CBS affiliate WDVM-TV. (then WTOP in Washington DC). She became a Washington general correspondent with NBC News two years later. From 1981 onwards she began covering the White House. In 1988 she was named the chief reporter for Congress. She was made the chief White House correspondent in 1992. And Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent at NBC News. Mitchell participated on the TV program Meet the Press and also host of the show. She was on the panel during the 1988 presidential debates in the debate between George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell got married to Alan Greenspan the former chairman of Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and, in 2004, she was awarded the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) honored Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award for her contribution to the protection for First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell started covering the White House in 1981-1988, both during Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell covered a wide range of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran-Contra scandal, budget tax reforms and the arms control. She traveled with Reagan on numerous occasions to meet with Reagan several times for summits, and to discuss issues including the Iran Contra scandal.
